Lunch is done, a late start to journaling. Had a small portion of cottage cheese after my salad — and it tasted really good! Very creamy, almost as if they had changed the recipe … which they may have, the texture of the amount I scraped from the top of the container was very creamy. And it was a 24oz container rather than the usual 16oz, perhaps making a difference. I may go back to this for lunch, or alternating with salads. Would make for a more convenient camping lunch.

Grocery shopping this morning. Bought two creams at Aldi, one to leave here and one to take camping, along with roma tomatoes (twice the usual since they’re smaller) and a jar of olives for camping, a little cheaper than Walmart but a little too small, I decided — this was before trying the cottage cheese and finding it is a lunch option. Condiments at Walmart, plus toothpaste and muenster cheese (camping omelets & burgers) and the cottage cheese, plus biscuits and sausage and s&v chips for E (she didn’t ask, but she seems to be out). Oops, forgot tortillas, but there’s still a chance before I leave on Thursday.

Didn’t go to Kroger, arrived at home at 9:45am to see E getting out of her car with a troubled look on her face. Dead battery. I fetched the Gooloo jumper battery from my car, used it to start hers, said if it didn’t start when her shift ended I’d drive down to Kroger so we could do it again. Chatted C, who chatted her, and found that it might be the ignition switch — the blower didn’t go off right away when the car turned off. C also told me a couple of things to check with a multimeter, which I have and managed to locate. I asked if he still had the knife (cutoff) switch from the silver van, he said he’d check. If not, I’ll order one today. If so, I’ll suggest E drive up to C’s place tonight so he can install it and do some troubleshooting.

Coming home just as E discovered the dead battery, without much slack left in her schedule, is one of those small things that reminds me the universe smiles on us often enough that it’s hard to chalk up to coincidence … but beyond that I don’t really know what to chalk it up to, a divine being or even a conscious universe explains too much … and then I remind myself that it doesn’t really matter, as far as I can tell it’s nothing I can control or solicit, so I’m just content knowing that the cosmos is a surprisingly congenial place.

Heavy rain yesterday afternoon and evening, so the grass may spring out of the ground, I’ll give C a report on my way out the door Thursday. Likely it could wait another week.

Ordered a knife cutoff switch, will be here tomorrow. She works the next couple of days so can’t go to C right away, I’ll install it when it arrives, she can go for troubleshooting on her next day off.

Watching MI: Fallout on Plex … not available on Prime! Hope that Dead Reckoning is still there in the next few days. Sigh, so much rewatching to do! Probably the Daniel Craig 007 series, before or after Mad Max.

Want to move the IKEA short table and metal drawers to the basement, trying to kickstart the process by cleaning out the drawers (not mucb there) and putting the three things in the middle of the office floor where they’re kind of inconvenient. Would have done it already except that I need to clear a spot in the basement for them.

No real work on camping gear today, better get on with it!
